TOGA’s recent Health & Safety Guidelines for Ontario Greenhouses manual has been a great success and tool for the industry.  For your copy, please contact the TOGA office.

TSSA risk-gaps review moves closer to initial draft.  Representatives of TOGA are working with TSSA to increase worker safety while ensuring common sense and financial viability.  First draft of recommendations should be up for comment by February, 2005.

Source Water Legislation proposals being considered by the province is an important emerging issue for greenhouse operators and the agricultural industry at large.  We are waiting to see how the government proposes to move this issue ahead.

Stakeholder Survey Launched - The Month of November saw the greenhouse industry undertake a comprehensive consultation with industry stakeholders.

Emergency Response Program - TOGA has contracted for the development of an emergency preparedness program this fall  to ensure professional response capabilities and protocols in the event of a natural disaster or industry emergency.

Greenbelt Task Force is a government initiative which TOGA and its member organizations are participating in to represent the unique interests of the industry - particularly in the Niagara region.

TOGA's Annual Poinsettias Reception at Queen's Park took place on November 25th, 2004.  With 74 MPPs and staff attending, this continues to be a great opportunity for the industry to keep elected officials informed of industry successes and issues.
